You can find us in the beautiful surroundings of Poole Park, Poole, Dorset, on the South Coast of England. The bustling seaport of Poole is within easy walking distance with its busy harbour and shopping district. Both Poole and nearby Bournemouth are popular holiday destinations and hotel and guesthouse accommodation is plentiful and of a wide range of standards and prices.

Lake Details: Dimensions - At about 100 x 200 m, the Model Yachting enclosure is a part of the large Boating Lake in Poole Park that was formed when the main London - Weymouth railway line was constructed on an embankment that cut off a bay of Poole Harbour. Thus the Lake is of salt water and is contained by a sluice that the Council open at regular intervals to clean and scour the water. When the sluice is open the lake is basically tidal and sailing can be curtailed. Liaison with the Council generally ensures that there is enough water for major events but casual visitors are advised to contact the Club for details before setting out. The normal depth of water in the Model Yachting Enclosure is about 1 metre. There is easy access to the water from the road. There are firm concrete banks and a sturdy walkway with handrail separates the model yacht enclosure from the rest of the boating lake.

A rescue dinghy complete with an outboard motor is available for both Club and Open events. Free on-road parking is to be had on Whitecliff Road that boarders one side of the Enclosure
