Dragon Flite 95 Class
Following the success of the Dragon Force 65 the club has adopted theDragon Flite 95 to provide people with the opportunity to sail a larger yacht based on the same design and class philosophy as the much loved Dragon Force 65.
Dragon Racing UK runs a series of TT Events across the country with the DF65 racing on Saturdays and the DF95 racing on Sunday, Poole Radio Yacht Club is trialing a similar approach but on a domestic basis.
The Dragon Flite 95 (DF 95) is smaller, lighter and more easily managed than other classes, making it ideal to transport and launch.
The class ethos is based on competing on a level playing field with identical yachts where sailing, tactical and set up skills are more important than cheque books (debit card/credit card).

01/11/2021 - Dragon Flite Class Trial - Message from Michael - Class Lead
Hi Everyone
On Sunday 7th November 2021 starting at 13:30hrs we are going to have the first Dragon Flite 95 racing in Poole!
I'm very keen that we get the right mix of competitive yet fun sailing and do everything we can to show case the Dragon Flite 95 to the club membership, potential new members and new owners.
It's important that we lay the right foundations for permanent adoption of the class for 2022 and beyond so I'm keen that we help each other with set up of new yachts and encourage those new to the class and club, I would like to see efforts to engage with those who want to know more about the boat.
As part of the trial I'm happy to make my DF95 available to those who would like to try out the boat.
We are looking for spirited racing in identical boats, the plan is to hold 8 races each day starting at 13:30hrs every Sunday from the 7th of November to the end the trial on 26th December 2021 , there is a results page on this site for DF95 results which will posted asap after racing on a day by day basis but not as a series.
To make sharing ideas as easy as possible I'm looking to create a WhatsApp group so please check your email.

The Dragon Flite 95 - what's it all about?
History:
Following in the successful wake of the DragonForce 65 RC yacht, Joysway released a 950mm version "DragonFlite 95" or DF95 for short. After rigorous performance and functionality testing, this collaboration has produced a truly well balanced and near perfect handling radio controlled yacht. The DF95 is constructed of several cutting-edge components and composite materials not found in similar priced RC yachts produced by any other manufacturer. With carbon fibre keel fin, advanced design keel bulb, shroudless keel step, one-piece carbon mast and mylar sails this all new racer has the kind of light wind performance most other radio yachts can only dream of Its lightweight and long, narrow hull would normally mean an inability to perform in strong winds, however this has been countered by designing low aspect, lightweight rigs with careful sail plan development to ensure awesome handling and balance. Even when the boat is overpowered it still remains easily controllable to windward and always has astonishing speed downwind with almost no tendency to ‘nosedive’.
